I’m Awake

We went, wanting a word of wonder “Speak to me gracious counselor” the words of my breath blown away by the breeze that bit my skin and made my blood freeze this breeze came from the face of Fear who has faithfully followed me through every moment He effortlessly eased his echoing voice into my vulnerable mind “He has not spoken He will not speak” Bouncing back and forth between the sides of my skull When a call coming from the closed caverns of my chest climbed up my throat and jumped off my tongue “Give him a chance He will...

Stepping into Victory

In just 4 days I have traveled to the USA for only the 4th time flown by myself for the first time arrived to rain in Atlanta Georgia…what no snow in January!??   Training camp has been an incredible experience. I have been so challenged in my faith as I watch my brothers and sisters on my team walk in commitment, faith, and hope in Christ. It is such a privilege knowing these wonderful individuals. We have really been knit together as a family. Wow I am one blessed lady!   Already Satan has been defeated and victory and power has been...

An Unlikely Crew United In Christ

A chef, baker, a candlestick maker…   That little rhyme immediately pops into my head when I think about the girls on my team because we are all so different and unique in our own ways. We'll be living together for the next four months as we pursue Christ and share the good news to the people of Guatemala. Beautiful Butterflies !

It is our first girl's bonding night and what do we do? Bring out the hugest bag of Skittles I have ever set eyes on and cuddle up together on the floor for the ultimate girl experience ! A laughter filled viewing of She's The Man. The very best part of this movie is when the mom tell's the Debutant girls "You are all beautiful butterflies!" In her silly voice and hand motions included.  We are all beautiful butterflies! Training Camp stripped us of our comfy cocoons and forced us to evaluate so many hard to look at areas in our lives. Personal walls have been...

So much change, so little time

Hola from Puerto Barrios, Guatemala!      From the chilly cold grounds of Georiga to the lush warm land of Guatemala, I start my journey of this crazy adventure. When I think training camp I think of silly team bonding games that make situations more awkward than usual, but NOT this training camp. This training camp is more  like spiritual bootcamp.     I have never felt so spiritually prepared to go into the mission field, as I did here in Georgia. Falling in love with Christ all over again, finding your idenity in Christ, to...

Walk to surrender

As I was told to write down what I need to surrender to God, I kept coming up with these shallow answers; pride and selfishness being the main concepts. I had my answers down, and I was about to easily get up and take my 'stick of burden" through the woods. That wasn't right. God said no. He told me to sit with Him until I really knew what to surrender. I didn't want to go through this, but I knew I had to. I knew God wanted me to. i will say this, the first few days of training camp have been extremely challenging. I was bothered by something, but I wasn't really sure...
