The Hug worth a million smiles

What a joy and blessing God has had for us on this trip. To think it hasn't even been three weeks here in Guatemala, but God has already done amazing through us and through those around us who have touched our hearts. This week was full of lots of ministry and highlights throughout this week, it has definitely been eye opening and lots of fun especially the great memories to cherish and look back at with the amazing people I am with. My favorite thing by far of this whole trip was on wednesday. We had the great opportunity visit a school for kids with special needs. As soon as we...

An answer in the Silence

We are always searching. Always asking: Why? How? When? Who? What? Constantly seeking a new destination or a new answer. And more often than not we get to that point of impatience where we break. That place where we offer God an ultimatum or tell him we can’t wait anymore. That’s been me. I’ve been the girl filled with constant questions and impatience while waiting for guidance. I’ve been the beggar, the yeller, the pouter, the crier, the whiner…you name it and that’s been me…Day after day trying to find my answer. But during worship as I was...

Careless Lover

I don't always seek God. The times when I am seeking Him, aren't always times when I am really seeking Him. Wisdom, healing, providence, comfort, direction, security, rest, joy; these are all things I have sought, believing I was actually seeking after God while doing so. Days ago, immersed in worship, singing with all I had "How He Loves", I felt an overwhelming sense of contentment come over me. Singing, my voice cracks, horribly, and moments later, I am in tears, and at this point, I am in the most real conversation with God I know that I have had in a long time....

Faith or Falling on my Face

Guatemala is unexplainable. God is moving. People are growing. Lives are being changed. Eyes are being opened. God is showing me that there is no stopping point in my growth. There is always something new to be discovered, and I have to keep seeking. Seeking with my WHOLE heart.    With that being said… God put a trip on my heart. A long, expensive, and last minute trip. It's called the Immersion trip with Adventures in Missions, the organization I am leading a trip in Guatemala with right now. This trip consists of 3 months in 3 different countries. . A total of 9...

The House of God Forever (Psalm 23)

There have been many low key mornings here in Guatemala before we go out and do afternoon ministry.  There was one morning our leaders asked us to spend 3 hours with the Lord before lunch.  I spent my time, praying over the different ministries my team is involved in.  I busted out my ipod and put on some good ol' worship music to the one and only JC.  My prayers for the ministries were the song lyrics of different songs.   The song God of this City by Chris Tomlin was my prayer for the people of Puerto Barrios.  There were many other songs I came...

1st things 1st- Create the Relationship

Looking back at my journal from this week, I realized I did a lot of whining and griping. I wasn’t satisfied with the amount of ministry happening (or lack thereof). I was irritated with the same questions and same answers. And there are only so many times a person can play Bananagrams with a smile. Little did I know, God was giving us those days of down time to prepare us for the days to come. God’s timing is perfect. And I’m an impatient loser. The week started with sports ministry at the park. I can’t even put into words the joy I felt when I spotted “my...
