Team is Safe

As some of you may be aware, a volcano erupted earlier today in Guatemala.  We have spoken with the team, and they are safe. Their contact is aware of what is going on, but we have been assured that they are at a safe distance (5 hours away). We just wanted to assure all the parents that we are aware of what is going on in Guatemala with the volcano, and we have talked to the team! Thanks -Field Support-

It’s coming.

Our Time: We have been here for almost a week and so far it feels like we've done nothing to make an impact. We've been doing a lot of preparation for our ministry. We have learned a bunch of skits and songs (all in Spanish) it's been fun but not fulfilling. I have a longing to go out on the field and give my time meaning. Our first day of real ministry is Monday, I can't wait for Monday.   Just a Little Something: I feel something coming for Guatemala. Something big. I have no clue what it is but it's there. It's like a storm that's been building for a week,...

He spoke. I listened.

Coming into camp I didn't know what to expect. I thought it to just be about team building  and finally getting to find out exactly what I will be doing on the field. Instead I found myself starting to understand my reason for being on this trip. I thought I knew my reason. I was wrong. I laid down my past an picked up my future, refusing to let my focus be on anything but my future in Guatemala. I found an answer to a question I've had for a long time. How do you hear from God? What does he sound like? I got my answer. A very loud and direct answer. We spent a night speaking truth...

New people, New adventures, New ME

My first thought about training camp, was that it was going to be in a nice resort, we'd pack the conference center with worship. I didn't expect anything from my team. I thought we would just get along but not really be close. It might've been awkward, and since it's sometimes hard for me to open up, I thought I would be shy around them. I also thought it'd drag on just because I've been so anxious about this trip. When I first saw the Passporters In the airport, I got so nervous, but I gained the courage to walk up. Immediately I was greeted by Karina, my leader and...

Lost and Found

Following a thirty minute boat ride (the first ten of which consisted of me praying that it would not flip), Daniel, Jacob, Hilda, and myself, arrived at Livingston. Arriving an hour later that I would have liked, at 10am, we began our search before we even left the boat. Hilda, our contact's wife, was accompanying us to Livingston. She asked the captain of our boat if he recognized the photo of Justine I had put on my phone. Upon seeing the image, he seemed to know instantly who we were looking for, and how we could find her. We piled out of the boat, and made our way up the steep...
