What is a guanaba???

A guanaba is a type of tropical fruit….I just ate a guanaba float from an ice cream shop here. Yum! So we have been in Guatemala since Tuesday. When we were arriving by plane everything already looked so different from America. Mountains, so many different colors, and tin roofs. We took a really long but super beautiful and fun bus ride to Puerto Barrios, the city where we are staying. On the drive, our van’s tire blew out and so we formed a human circle and owed on the side of the road…it was super fun! Ha. We are staying in a cute little neighborhood in a green house,...

Safe in Guatemala!

We just spoke with the team leaders and they've all arrived safely in Guatemala.  They are in route to their ministry site via some very long bus rides and will be settling in these next few days and getting some orientation from their host. Expect to see some blogs rolling out in the next few days as they find internet. Thanks for all the prayers for this team! The Passport field support team

Training Camp

Today's the last day of training camp! We leave tomorrow morning out of ATL and will be flying into Guatemala City around 11am mountain time. From there we have a 6ish hour drive to Puerto Barrios. These past few days have been filled with team bonding, worship, teaching, camping outside, hiking to a waterfall, and speaking life over people! It's been such a wonderful experience and I'm actually grateful for having training camp. I was pretty apprehensive beforehand because the last thing I wanted to do was go to training camp. Anyway, it's time to get this adventure on and...

Gotta love training camp

Training camp…. I had no idea what to expect when I first got here, but I have to say, it's been a wild ride already. It's just so amazing to see how God brought people from all over the country together to spread his word and to "raise an army of love", something that we've been talking about throughout our sessions. Even though I was nervous, I am so blessed by God to be on the team I'm on. Everyone has so many strengths and wonderful qualities that I am so excited to get to know them even more over the next two months. Now…more about training camp....

training camp sayy whaattt??

Picture this. 200 college aged students in Atlanta Georgia for a training camp, preparing us for missions all over the world. What comes to mind? Nazi "holier than thou"snobs telling you how much of a sinner you are. Maybe a hippie like love fest. These were only a few of the ideas scrollig through my mind. When we arrived one of the first things we did was worship. So all 200 of us piled into the sanctuary. Not knowing what to expect. As we stood up to worship one of the speakers for our camp told us how Adventures in Missions encourages us to worship. All he said was FREELY. If...

Guatemala, here we come!

Training camp has been amazing. At first, I was nervous about what would happen because we weren't told what to expect at all.  I am definitely learning to live without expectations. We are at Toccoa Falls College 2 hours from Atlanta, GA. It's beautiful here and today we walked to a waterfall. My team is so great and we have already made an awesome community together.  I can tell that each person has a specific role to play this summer and they're a vital part of the team. Besides sleeping in the dorms, the second night we were given 2 tarps and some rope and we had...
