So It begins

Warning! The following blog could possibly make absolutely no sense because I simply have so much going on in my head right now that there is no way I can piece it all together and make any sort of sense, so Im sorry in advance. At training camp I was blown away by God. I was not looking forward to training camp at all, I was ready to go go go to Guatemala, But wow already I have learned so much about myself and all of Gods crazy love. Its amazing to be completely surrounded by people who love unconditionally , who don't care about how others view them and just want to love people...

First Stop Training Camp

Hello there (: So I'm in training camp and I'm not gonna lie it was pretty crazy and exhausting! It was well worth it though! I learned alot not only about myself but others. I learned that everyone is the same thru Gods eyes and we are all Gods children no matter where we are. Just because we will be in a different country much different from ours the people their still have feeling and cultures we must respect and obey. Training camp was an eye opener I believe not only for me but all of us. As a team we definately all bonded and got comfortable with each other really quickly and...

Holy Spirit You Are Welcome Here

Tonight we went back to Bar Popeye. I wish I was going to be able to put into words what happened tonight, but words really can’t do it justice. I’m not sure how to describe it to people so that they can understand.  We know this bar and the women there. These were the ladies we danced with, the ladies that have shared their entire stories with us. Only two were there tonight, and one e hadn’t ever seen before. When we asked where the other women were, they told us that drugs and alcohol had gotten in the way and prohibited them from working anymore. A porn film is...

The Little Things

“So whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all things to the glory of God.” – I Corinthians 10:31   This week I have learned time and time again that God is not only in control of the big things in life, but the little things as well. In the words of Oswald Chambers:   The shallow aspects of life are ordained by Him equally as much as the profound. God ordains even the shallow things of life, such as eating and drinking, walking and talking.   Multiple times this week I have found myself in a very normal or “shallow” situation, asking...

Following Hard After God

Following Hard After God “To have found God and still to pursue him is the soul’s paradox of love, scorned indeed by the too-easily satisfied religionist, but justified in happy experience by the children of the burning heart.” -A.W. Tozer We are never going to get to a point where we get too much of God. He loves us so much that whatever He has planned for our future is going to be the best possible future we could ever have. He deserves every part of us. He WANTS every part of us, even the broken parts. He speaks to us. His word really is active and living, sharper than...

Love like a child.

This Friday three other girls and I got the opportunity to spend the morning at a day care in Puerto Barrios that is available for single moms who work during the day. When we showed up there were about ten two-year olds running wild around the room. Immediately there was a little girl in my arms and two little ones wrapped around my legs. We stayed there for three hours or so running around, doing summersaults, throwing stuffed animals, and taking pictures. Although we were all exhausted afterward it was amazing because we weren’t emotional drained, we were just physically tired. So...
