Blessed.

There have been many moments the past two months where I think, “Where am I? What am I doing? And how did I get here?” These questions came rushing through my head when I found myself being interviewed live on Honduras TV. I sure didn’t think I would be doing that when I signed up for a mission trip to Guatemala!   The five days we were in Honduras were some of my favorite days on this trip. The people that we met and worked with were so joyful, kind, and generous. They were very happy that we were there and wanted to bless us. They just kept saying,...

Honduras

Hey ya’ll this past week was great. On Thursday we traveled to Honduras and spent the weekend there. It was awesome to experience a different culture. It was surprising to see how different the cultures were even though the countries are so close together. While we were there we were blessed by the people there and were so incredibly loved on. Even when they didn’t have much they were so generous in giving us what they could. It was a good reminder that it is a greater blessing for one to give than to receive.   While we were there we visited several churches and schools....

Purple Couch

Yesterday, we had an ATL ministry morning. For those of you unfamiliar with this (me being one), it stands for Ask The Lord. You literally pray and ask God what he wants you to do and where he wants you to go during the time set aside. With that introduction, we split into groups and began to pray. My group started with individual prayer. Ok God, I said. I have no idea what I'm doing. And I'm sure hoping you do. Nothing. Really God? Something? Anything??? And finally, randomly, completely unexpected, God told me "purple couch." Well, really more burgandy....

Hospital Honduras

I can’t help but smile every time I think about my time in Honduras. For a short amount of four days that we stayed in Puerto Cortez, i felt so much love and joy from these wonderful people. From the moment we met the Burgos family to visiting iglesias to finally going home with a little treat at the beach, we were all covered with the generosity of the Honduran people.                Some of us were sick before the trip and even though the thought of going to another country sounds really good, some were still not...

Saving the Best for Last

This last week has been my favorite week of the trip, beginning with our mini mission trip to Honduras.  I don’t think anyone was really looking forward to Honduras-they told us we would be out doing ministry from 8 in the morning until 10 at night, and then sleeping on the floor of a church. And considering the fact that the Honduras border is only 20 minutes or so away from Puerto Barrios, we were expecting a similar cultures and the dark spiritual climate that surrounds our own port city. But Puerto Cortes was completely different than any of us expected. First of all, everyone...

IT’S NOVEMBER!!

This month has been great! We went to Honduras on Thursday and stayed five days. We worked with local churches and I fell in love with Puerto Cortez, Honduras. The people welcomed us with open arms and showed us so much love. It was great!  A LITTLE ENCOURAGEMENT FROM MY DEVOTION JESUS CALLING…. "Sit quietly with Me, letting all your fears and worries bubble up to the surface of your consciousness. There, in the Light of My Presence, the bubbles pop and disappear. However, some fears surface over and over again, especially fear of the future. You tend to project...
