Guats up people?

God is amazing. I think that statement is enough for a blog but I must type more so I'm going to tell you how God has worked in my life. Get yourself a cup of coffee or tea or pop or water or even juice (whichever you prefer) and find a place to sit down and read this blog for the next few minutes.  Currently I am sitting outside of a coffee shop in Pana just thinking of how amazing God is. I am so amazed that God knew before I was born, before my mom and grandma was born that at 1:28pm on July 13th, I would be sitting here typing this out. It was part of his schedule and his...

Is your life in the dumps?

Last weekend my team and I were giving the opportunity to go out to Guatemala City for a weekend and do a lot of outreach. We got to go to a rehab center, a nursing home, and two dump sites. God worked in every place we went to. Not only did he work through us but he strengthened our faith in him by showing us things we have never seen before. God really blew my mind last weekend at the dump and I’m just in awe of how great He is! Arriving to the dumps I just felt discouraged about the oppression that was felt. I also got discouraged from not knowing what I would be saying to...

His Healing Power

On Tuesday, we had our morning worship time, and then were given very mysterious directions. As we read the first card, we realized that we were going to the Santo Tomas market and that the two people in my group that were fairly fluent Spanish speakers were muted from the time we left for the market to an hour after. We spent time in our groups and asked God to show us what He had in store for us. We asked for visions and pictures of people to talk to. Oddly enough, I had a picture of a woman with a meat cleaver.             We went on...

Broken

My heart has been broken into fragments. Broken for the 32million girls in modern day slavery             but more specifically Broken for Mercy*, one of these girls,             whose spirit is dejected and hopeless             whose eyes lit for such a brief second             when she thought she saw her son, who she hasn’t seen for 7 months. Broken for the...

Work in progress

The Lord is doing awesome work within our team! Our weeks are basically set with a schedule right now but starting next week we are about to start doing more outreach and be able to pour God into people’s lives. As of right now we have been working with Pastor Ben on two projects, building a retaining wall for a family whose house gets bombarded with mud from landslides, and also completing a well at Pastor Ben’s house was just now completed after 3 years of being worked on. The wall should be done sometime this week as well. Pictures of working at the wall Alaina, Nic, and...

Digging Holes

Scoop, lift, throw.  Scoop, lift, throw.  Scoop, lift, throw.  This has been my motion for the last week.  My team and I have been a part of finishing building a water well that has been an ongoing process for 3 years.  Once complete, the well will be a source of water for 4 families in the community.  Being a part of a project that will soon impact so many people has been a blessing.  My main job has been shoveling dirt into the surrounding walls of the well.  First off, I have never shoveled so much in my whole life and second, by shoveling every...
