Mi Amigo Nacho

Back home, all of my friends know that I have a deep desire to adopt children once I am married and settled. That decision came about around five years ago. My friend and I were talking about how many kids we wanted to have and surprisingly he said none. I was so confused because I want to have 10. He then said some of the wisest words I have ever...

WHERE THE SPIRIT OF THE LORD IS THERE IS FREEDOM!

“So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness.”  Colossians 2:6-7 This week started off a bit rocky…Friday morning I woke up with severe sun poisoning and 2nddegree burns all over my face. This equaled 3 days stuck in the house. But praise God I am back to normal! In Puerto Barrios, Guatemala the Christian culture is extremely closed off. Grace is lacking and the “Christians “are very legalistic. The pastors teach...

Week 5

Jeremiah 29:11-13 11For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. 12 Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. 13 You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. God is so good. When ever you doubt his plans for you he shines light onto your life and says… “Listen my daughter, do not doubt me. Regardless of how tired or sick you are. I have sent you here for a reason. You can not rely on yourself… for I...

Worrying and Complaining… no más!

I was unsure of what to blog about this week. If you read my other blogs, you already have a feel for what ministry looks like here. I don't want to bore you with my emotional states the past few days or say the same thing I did last week, so this week I decided to write about what I have been learning, both about myself and about my God. God has convicted me of two things this week: complaining and worrying. I know that the Bible specifically says not to complain and worry, but for me, it is so unnatural not to do those things, especially when it comes to worrying. Sunday was a...

An AMAZING week!

I'm happy to say that his week has been AMAZING. We are beginning to do a lot of different ministries which makes everyone on my team very happy. This week we went to numerous church services, a local park to watch break dancers and do sports ministry, the market, a children's hospital, a school for children with special needs, and bars to do prostitute ministry. If you know anything about me, you can probably pick out the two ministries above that made this week awesome for me: the school for children with special needs and the children's hospital. When we got to the school, I...

WAKE UP CHILD. IT’S YOUR TIME TO SHINE.

IT HAS BEEN SUCH AN INCREDIBLE WEEK!   “He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” Isaiah 40:29-31   I am FINALLY in a really good place! This journey had an extremely slow and hard beginning…but Sunday changed everything! I spent several hours in the word and He opened my eyes to so much! I finally felt...
