The Intimacy of Silence

“So, when He heard that he was sick, He stayed two more days in the place where He was.” JOHN 11:6 When God is silent in your life, what is your instant reaction? “Oh my God has forsaken me. He has left me here utterly alone.”  NO. On the contrary God is showing you a deeper level of intimacy and trust. “Has God trusted you with a silence—a silence that is big with meaning? God’s silences are His answers. Think of those days of absolute silence in the home at Bethany! Is there anything analogous to those days in your life? Can God trust...

Do I Have To?

We went to the children's hospital this week. I was strangely excited. This was our third trip, and my first with no apprehension. Un dia especial con un nino especial.

Wednesday, September 28, 2011 started out just like any other day. I woke up and listened to some worship music, prayed a little, read my devotional and got ready for the day. We were headed off to the Special Kids' School. Our students had visited Monday and really enjoyed it. I myself was a little nervous. God is really challenging me in this season to lay aside my preconceptions and personal challenges to minister to His children. First at the elderly home and now at the school. I have always struggled with knowing how to interact with special kids. At the core, I knew in my head they...
